Perfect if you want soft skin and improves texture!!

I use this about 3 times a week, and i absolutely love how soft my face is after using it and have seen a noticeable difference in texture in a problematic area on my cheek. It’s the perfect complement to my skincare’s routine (micellar water, SeaBreeze Astringent, handmade charcoal soap on a daily basis) as it gently exfoliates while keeping my skin moisturized. Add in an occasional TonyMoly mask (i rotate between the charcoal, green tea, and rice water masks once per week) and it really makes the results last!

    Too cute and it works

I absolutely love this little octopus. It’s so cool you just rub it in your skin and you’ll feel the little pumice in there. Yes I will definitely buy this product again.

    Impressed…

Woah, I have to admit that I was super skeptical about this product. Especially when I received it and seen how small it actually really is. Well I had to come write a review after just one use because I am pretty impressed by the results. It wasn’t a magical transformation but it did remove many blackheads and others ones that have been stubbornly staying put for a long long time, actually surfaced. I’m thinking with this result after only one use that after several days it will draw the majority of these things out!! My pores do look smaller where the black heads we’re removed. I have tried many other products but I have to say this one so far seems to take the cake!! I am so eager to see what happens after ongoing use!!Update: it’s only been about 3 days since I started using this thing. I had to come back and rave some more about the difference it has made with my pores and blackheads!! I wish I had taken before pictures of my pores close up so I had comparison but there is an undeniable noticeable difference!! I can back to buy another one since I am so pleaded with this. I just wish it wasn’t so small. It seems to be expensive for the size you get but well worth it!!!

    Actually worked

I have tried so many products to remove the blackheads in my nose. Even pore strips are not effective.I use this product about 3 times a week. It didn’t take care of them immediately but I can definitely tell the difference the amount and area of my nose. When I first used the product it left a white cast on my nose which was a little concerning because I didn’t want to clog my pores more. After a few uses the white cast isn’t an issue.I’m going to continue to use it to see if I can get my nose completely blackhead free. If I achieve this goal I’m buying one fore everybody I know.

    This Little Guy…

I bought this not expecting much. In fact I thought to myself, “Welp, I’m about to throw away twelve bucks.” To give you some background on my skin struggles.. I’m in my early forties and my acne now is worse than it was during my teens and twenties. Due to a medical condition I suffer with hormonal and cystic acne breakouts on my jawline and close to my mouth. You name it, I’ve bought it…creams, soaps, drying lotions, scrubs, strips, and dots. I’ve been to dermatologists and had medical facials done. Literally nothing has helped. So I didn’t think this little penguin octopus-looking thing was going to be any different. I was wrong. In less than a week this little guy has done more for my skin than all of the pricey cleansers and potions combined have done in months. Be warned…your skin will purge. Please don’t be discouraged by this. Hang in there and it will clear up. I had a cluster of deep whiteheads that were just sitting on my jawline but now they are coming to a head and I’m able to pop them quite easily. Others that were already at a head literally have dried or crusted up and flaked off. My skin is a combination of dry and sensitive in spots but this has not dried out or irritated my face at all. I don’t know what this little guy is doing but I’m going to let him keep on doing it.

    Very cute

This is very cute and it does a great job. A terry cloth wash cloth can do the same job, though. Cute was what I expected and that is what I got. I keep it in the shower and use on my face. It has a nice, clean smell. Not too perfumery. I’m very happy every time I see it 😊

This is the cutest, most effective blackhead remover I’ve had in years.

I’ve suffered from large pores and blackheads since I was a teenager. I purchased this after seeing it reviewed on Buzzfeed, but I had doubts about its usefulness. Last night I took a long bubble bath and decided to try it. I let the steam from the hot water open my pores and rubbed this all over the areas where I had blackheads. I then took a shower and rinsed my face with warm water. To my surprise, my face was blackhead free! My skin looked smooth and clear. This will definitely be on my Amazon shopping list as long as I have this face!!

    Strong Artificial Perfume Scent!

Tako means octopus in Japanese. This thing is pretty cool. It’s small and portable, and the exfoliating salts are very fine. There are some beneficial ingredients as well as artificial ones in here. The major issue is the strong perfume scent. I’m not a fan of lab-made perfumes in skin products since they’re not good for you (they enter your body through your pores). This one smells like a full bottle of perfume and you’re rubbing it into your nose so it’s even stronger. If there was no perfume and natural aromatherapy was used instead, I’d give this a 5 out of 5, no doubt. It works well to scrub away dry skin and blackheads with minimal scratching. Cute little product, but make sure not to use it every day. It’s still quite abrasive to your skin.Update: After I use this product, the skin around and under my nose (that I don’t actually scrub) gets irritated and red. I believe the artificial ingredients are creating this issue. Not good!

This little product actually works so well!

I was looking for a product that would be gentle but effective at cleaning blackheads/clogged pores without being too harsh. I have sensitive skin and did not want a drying product. I was skeptical at first given this little “gimmicky “ looking product, but boy was I wrong! It works so well at gently removing excess sebum, and exfoliating pores better than anything I have ever used. I had always been a big fan of face masks, but finding the time to sit for 15 minutes to allow them to work was always an issue. This little scrubber works well, and is very easy to use during your morning/evening face cleansing routine. If you have been skeptical like me—-don’t be! Get this little guy, and say good bye to black/white heads clogging your skin!

Cute but Not Sure About Effective

I have some thoughts on this little guy. It’s very cute. Unscrew the cap and you find a ball sitting on a base. It’s smooth at first. Then you start to feel the grit of the salt as the top layer wears off. Now that’s not a bad thing because the salt is the exfoliator. I’m not so sure what is seen on the ball after use is actually blackheads and whiteheads. I think it’s just the salt crystals sticking out giving the illusion of gunk being removed. I think this says it’s unscented but it’s not. The scent is light and very pleasant. No problem with that. I do like the way my skin feels after I’ve used it and done the warm water rinse. I just use mine in the shower. I turn my back to the water stream to use and then rinse afterwards. I do think it’s a little overpriced for what it is and how small it is. I see it as more of a novelty item. It’s not a bad product. I just think it might be a bit overhyped.

Did not rise to expectations based on reviews

I am a big fan of TonyMoly lip stains, and so while looking for something in the way of a cleanser, serum or mask to deep clean my pores, I ran into this cute little Tako product. The reviews were so overwhelmingly positive, and focused on blackhead removal that it seemed this product was a sure thing. Not so for me. While cute, this little tako (and I emphasize, it is tiny, keychain-sized) did not magically pull out blackheads, nor did it do anything at all about the one stubborn whitehead (comedone) near my nose (how could it? Beware of products that claim to ‘scrub’ or pull away whiteheads, which are cystic. A whitehead is not the same as a pimple that has come to a head; it is too far buried under layers of cells to be affected in any way by topical products).Sadly, this product, which is basically very rough salt in a stick form, could not be expected to perform the miracles I read about. At best, as a (very harsh) exfoliator, it removed oily residue and surface dirt, cleaning just a bit from the tops of my pores. I expect that younger, more hormonal customers may experience temporary breakouts with this type of exfoliant; it is so rough that it might, with frequent use, continually stimulate more oil to rise to the surface of the skin.A big concern I have with very rough exfoliant products, containing coarse salt (as well as sometimes pieces of apricot kernel or walnut shell–beware these products!) is that the exfoliating agent very well might widen the opening of pores, even tearing the skin open at a level that might not at first seem evident, but soon enough, pores treated this way enlarge and coarsen. Had I understood that the salt was this coarse, I would not have purchased it. The only safe exfoliant I have found is made of very fine grains of salt, (usually combined with salycic acid or glycolic acid) that melt away while working on cleaning the pores. I have never found an OTC product that magically deep cleansed then tightened the pores to appear much smaller. That second step needs a sophisticated astringent, usually formulated by a cosmetic dermatologist, which is where I will turn for my next facial products.

TikTok convinced me I needed to buy this. Real life experience is telling you that you don’t. Don’t believe the lies of Instagram filters and TikTok influencers. This is cute and it smells good, but it’s not removing blackheads or reducing pores or anything else.

    Those are not blackheads

The videos claim that blackheads are extracted and u can see them on the scrubber. Those are the salts. I do like how my skin feels after and it did help me get a deep whitehead out. I do feel that I had to wash my fave with soap after using bec it felt like there was a film on it.

Unscrew the top, don’t pull it off

I haven’t even used the product yet but for all those who received the product and think it’s defective, please check that you’ve unscrewed the top (octopus head) rather than just pulling it off. I honestly did the latter first but a little patience led me to where I needed to go. I will update this review once I have tried the product.

    Hyped Product

Been using this for several times now and doesn’t live up to the hype that it can effectively take out blackheads. Also might not be best for sensitive skin as the exfoliating beads are a bit rough.

    I love this thing

I’ve never done anything that’s ever made an impact on the gunk in my nose. This seems to visibly reduce it after just one use. I love this little guy.I lost use him on my nose, but occasionally will use him all over if I need a little scrub down. I have extremely dry and sensitive skin and this doesn’t seem to irritate or dry out.I was a bit confused about how to use it when I got it, though. I might not even be using it correctly. I wet it, rub it all over my face, wipe the stuff left on my face off with a cloth, and re-rinse the thing to clean it.

    Works Beautifully

I am obsessed with purging mynpores and struggle to get out clogged blackheads not big enough to squeeze out and packed around my lip line and chin and nose area. This stuff loosened it all out of my skin and I was able to rub them all out. My skin felt silky smooth afterwards. So refreshing that something worked.

    Gritty Exfoliant

I was surprised how gritty the surface of my skin felt after using this little guy. I rinsed with a warm washcloth several times and still wasn’t sure I had all the grit off. I have large pores and, in the past, had problems with exfoliating soaps because some of the gritty exfoliating material would lodge in a pore and then get infected. When the pimple drained, there was always a hard piece of grit in it. Ugh. After carefully reviewing all the information on Amazon’s site about this product, I see it has biodegradable cellulose micro beads in it. Sigh. Biodegradable, a bead is a bead to lodge in my pores and get infected. Not sure I want to use it a second time. 😩

    Good for a weekly cleanse

I’m split on the pros and cons of this item because they’re pretty 50/50.PROS:-perfect texture for a light exfoliation (not too rough on my sensitive skin)-really does work well to clear pores-inexpensive and lasts a really long time (I’ve had mine 3 months now and I’m only a third of the way through it)-SO CUTE! It makes me really happy to look at and it’s something I look forward to usingCONS:-Breaks my sensitive skin out around the t-zone! It’s like it clears clogged pores, but then promptly fills them back up with the product and breaks me out.-The scent is really really strong and kinda chemical smelling. It smells to me like freshly poured cat litter. Definitely not great for sensitive skin and not really a pleasant smell though it’s still a “fresh” smelling product.-Roughs my skin up and breaks me out even worse if I use it more than once a week (see photo)All things considered, for the price point it’s a good product and it does what it claims to do. But for me, the breakouts are a bigger con than most of the pros. I’ll use it until it’s gone but probably won’t re-buy.

    It’s okay!

It does make my nose smoother but does leave a slimy film on my nose, which makes me worry that it could break my nose out. I wash the slimy film off after use and so far have been okay. However, I think any type of exfoliator lotion or scrub cream could do as well and would need to be washed off too.

    Works, but…

I bought just the little octopus pore cleaner, not the whole set. The first use was on my nose – side nostrils and tip; second use a couple of days later same thing. Seemed to work almost immediately but I noticed my face was tingly/itchy, as if cobwebs and little gnats were floating around my face. It wasn’t my nose that was itchy, just my face. I didn’t think any thing of it as the itchiness subsided significantly as the days passed. THEN I used Little Octopus again. Aha! There’s the problem! My face went into overdrive with the itchiness! I don’t have sensitive skin as a rule but there’s something in this product that my skin doesn’t like. I had no outward signs – no blotchiness or redness. Just the itchiness, which became worse the third time I used it. Alas, Little Octopus dived into the trash can, never to be seen again in my household.

Not defective, just two ways to open!

The media could not be loaded.

Some people in the reviews definitely had defective products, but some just looked they were opening the wrong way- just wanted to bring awareness that you access the product by unscrewing the top- the bottom also snaps off. I’m not totally sure the purpose of the latter… I’ve only used once and my nose looks and feels better, but I have a stubborn blackhead that exfoliating isn’t always great for, hence the 4 stars, but overall pretty happy!

Cute Packaging, but it’s a Gimmick. Avoid for Sensitive Skin

My review is for three of these products.Blackhead Scrub Stick: I’m someone that needs extra exfoliation, but this is an insane level to be used on even my face. It’s feels on the oily side, and there are big grains of rice that do the ‘scrubbing’. The oiliness does not wash off, so be prepared for that. The amount of product in this cute little stick is not worth the cost. A bottle of St. Ives or Freeman’s Black Sugar Scrub would do a better job than this. The cute packaging sucked me right in.Black Peel Off Mask: Never was a fan of these things just because they took so long to dry. The level of strength on this when it dries is pretty intense. I have blackheads and sebaceous filaments on my T-zone. I’ve used this three separate times and each time it did not pull anything off my face except a few whispy hairs here and there. If you have blackheads, they will glow neon pink/orange under a blacklight. After removing the mask, I shined a blacklight on it to see if it peeled any off. Negative. Again, cute packaging, but this one is a total gimmick.Bubbling Mask: This is my first time ever using one; I didn’t know you could find clay masks that bubbled. Cool experience, although I left it on too long and some of it melted and dripped down onto my shirt. This was the best of the three. Not sure how groundbreaking it is for your skin, but it’s a clay mask and it helps remove impurities. Watch out for your sink/tub, because the charcoal in this can stain.

    First impressions…Wow!🤯

There is a TL;DR at the bottom.I have written reviews before, but I only write them for products that actually impress me or extremely disappoint me. Well, let’s just say…this product did not disappoint. It kept popping up in my “Products for You” category, so I finally decided to try it. Now, I am lucky enough to not suffer from blackheads, but I do have really bad sebaceous filaments on my nose and chin, as well as ingrown hairs on the lower part of my chin (I have PCOS). I have searched for something to help with the sebaceous filaments for, no joke, years…and nothing actually helped remove the filaments AND minimize the look of my pores. Most products would just get a little bit of the filaments out and leave the pores still looking big, because it wasn’t getting all the filament out. This bothered me so much, I have resorted to using one of those metal blackhead remover tools on my nose and chin at least once a week for the last few years. While this method got the filaments all the way out, it also left my skin extremely red, and painful from having to push down so hard to get them out. AND most of the time, my pores didn’t really look a whole lot smaller. It sucked, but it sorta worked.I did just that last night, and the filaments had gotten so bad that I gave up after about 15 minutes, and just tried to soothe my sore skin. Well this little dude was delivered today, and I decided to try it right away…and I am SO GLAD I DID!!! As I said above, I did attempt to clean my pores out last night with my usual, painful way and it was not successful this time (sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t, but it always leaves my skin red and sore). So, my pores were (if possible) bigger this morning. Well…they’re not anymore.I genuinely didn’t think this little octopus dude could help what force couldn’t, but holy crow!! I wish I would have had the forethought to take a before and after picture! My pores were big and red on my nose & chin this morning, but after using this little dude, they are visibly smaller and the redness is almost completely gone! I’m genuinely impressed. Now, don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t perfect( but what is?) but, it was absolutely worth the money. My pores are not teeny-tiny, but they are visibly smaller and it absolutely did get rid of some of the worst filaments I had (I mean they’ll be back, eventually, but for now they appear to be gone). And it is a little drying, but nothing a moisturizer can’t handle. It also didn’t seem to irritate my skin, at least not any worse than pushing around on it with a hard metal tool does…😆. All in all, this is definitely a product I would tell my closest loved ones to try. So, if you’re debating whether or not to get it, just do it. It is actually worth the money.TL;DR- it actually worked and helped remove some stubborn sebaceous filaments on nose and chin. Stop debating on whether to buy it and just get it. I gave four stars because it is kind of drying on the skin, and I’m not sure if it is a long-term fix for the sebaceous filaments or not.

    Defective on first buy

Saw the reviews and pictures and thought “surely only a select few would be out of luck and get a bad product” but alas here I am with a defective one too. Container is completely different than the one advertised and the product isn’t even filled all the way to let alone use properly. Had to have been some manufacturing error with the recent batch or something because this is poor really.Edit: Got a free replacement and it looks exactly as advertised now. Works as intended now but still losing a star for the mishap.

The best little gizmo for blackheads

I started getting blackheads on my nose for some reason so I looked around for something to help with that and came across this little gizmo. It worked great!!! I still use it a few times a week all over my face but it did the job I bought it to do within the first week. Amazing product!Note: It does not pull the blackheads out as you might think by the photos. Those are the scrubbing beads and they are awesome.

    Meh- it’s okay.

I do like this, and it does do the job (exfoliating), but you’re really buying the convenience factor. It is very easy to open up and rub on your face, as opposed to buying an exfoliater in a tube. The other reviews stated that it leaves a residue on your face, but after I use it I wipe off with a warm rag, and this doesn’t happen. You definitely wouldn’t want to leave it on your face, so I’m not sure what people were talking about with a residue. Overall I like it, but know that you’re buying the cute little design.

    It works!

I love that after use my skin felt so smooth, soft and clean. I stopped using due to it running out (lasted about 6 months). I had about a two month break and was battling white heads and black heads. This time after ordering again I had to leave a review.PS don’t leave it in the shower if water runs on it. If you leave it in the water it will smell like a moldy sponge.

Cute, But Unsure If It Helps

Even though I watched the video on how to use this and open it up. When I received this it was difficult for me to open. lol. I’m not sure it was that moisturizing, but it did not hurt my sensitive skin which is always a plus for me. I barely noticed a scent. It was difficult for me to know regarding any exfoliation as I was using a similar product, both did not seem to exfoliate that much. Which may be a good thing in all honesty for a person with sensitive skin. I wish I could be more specific and helpful, but this really didn’t make an impression on me except for the cute container. lol. I realize everyone’s experience is different. That is why I’m not going to rave about a product when I really noticed barely anything from it. Thank you.

    He’s just a lil guy

My pores are always an issue on my nose. I also get stress pimples under my skin that just feel bad and can’t be treated because they are too deep. Well this lil guy (who is smaller than an eos lip balm) really helps! He got rid of all the gross obvious sebum on my nose, he pulled/exfoliated away whatever was blocking a painful pimple and when I went to remove it- I barely pressed with my tool and it all came out.The scent is light and the feel on my skin isn’t bad.Downsides- I want to use it on my whole face but this really is meant to treat problem areas. It’s more of like- like when your mom sprays neosporin on a cut when you were a child and gave no bandaid? It’s that level of problem solver. So if you have a pimple, if you have sebum build up you can see- this will almost certainly fix it. If you have any problem trickier- like acne right by your lips or little acne bumps on your face that aren’t developed enough to do anything for- then you’re probably not going to get much use from this.Also- you can’t use this out of the bathroom. It’s kind of an involved process after you apply it.I recommend you buy witch hazel and a mild unscented moisturizer to go with this so you can clean and promote the healing of any micro-tears from the salt.
