12 minutes for body and shine

I’m shocked at how well this worked. I’m growing my hair out and have a very short bob/”bixie” right now. After researching the much, much more expensive dryer options, I decided on trying this tool with good hair products while I’m growing my hair out (Colorwow shampoo/cond, living proof on damp hair and a half pump of kerastase oil after I blew my hair out). I couldn’t be more pleased.

Best For Long Thick Hair, but…

PROS: Creates glossy, silky. smooth hair styles best for long, thick hair. Removes unwanted waves and curls. Dries and styles very quickly.CONS: Really too big for shoulder length or shorter, and layered styles. Straightens hair, removes body.I have layered, slightly longer than shoulder length hair that is fine textured but thick. As hair classifications go, it is “2A” or as I used to call it, “wavy-straight.” I color it and it tends to be dry, especially at the ends. I usually style it by blowing it dry with a 2″ round brush, which creates waves and lots of long lasting body. This Revlon One Step dryer-brush has gotten lots of hype and I was curious to see how it would work for my hair.I searched it out in retail beauty stores. I’ve held it in my hand and was concerned that the brush head, which is 4.25″, would be too large a surface for my layered, mid length hair. It’s a big and fairly heavy device and felt clunky. I was also concerned about the heat burning my hair. When Amazon Prime Day came, I fell for the super duper price and bought the One Step. The brush head is a flattened oval with bristles. The hair is supported well by the bristles which keeps the hair close to the openings in the brush. There is no knotting or catching of the hair which is able to run smoothly through and around the bristles as it dries. There are three heat settings: “Hot,” “Warm,” and “Cool.” The controls are at the end of the brush handle, and while well marked, are nearly impossible to change while using the device. I’m used to a hand held pistol-shaped dryer that allows one to switch temperatures, air strength, or from hot to cool on the go…with one hand. I have yet to be able to do this with the One Step. You divide your hair into manageable sections and run the brush repeatedly through the hair from roots to ends until it is dry and styled. If you place the shorter end of the oval close to the scalp, you will get some lift. If you place the wider sides of the oval close to the scalp, you will straighten and flatten your hair. If it is long enough, you can wrap your hair around the brush as it dries. If you place the short end of the oval at your ends and hold the brush for a few seconds, you’ll get a small wave or flip.I found that the One Step dried my thick hair very quickly, faster than with a round bristled brush. My hair was very smooth, glossy, and close to my head. I would have preferred more “root-lift” especially at the crown, but I have had professional blow outs that looked similar to what I got with the One Step. All in all, the results were surprisingly good…even for such a large brush head.Instructions warn that if you have fine or dry hair to only use the “Warm” and not the “Hot” setting. This is very good advice and it should be followed. Only use the “Hot” setting if you have very thick, wavy, curly coarse hair.NOTE:If you check out the product page, you will notice that Revlon has a comparison picture of this “One Step 4.25″ Head” brush and a smaller headed brush device which it recommends for shorter or layered or wavier hair styles. This smaller device is called “The Titanium Max, 2.4” head.”Before I purchased this “One Step 4.25 head,” I went in search of the 2.4″ version. A large box store that starts with a “C” and ends with an “O” has an exclusive on this item, and of course, it was completely sold out. This smaller headed item was not on the Revlon web site. I contacted Helen of Troy (who makes these items for Revlon) Customer Service. The CS rep seemed to know nothing about the “Titanium Max” but told me, incorrectly that the “One Step” on Amazon had a 2.4″ head. She also told me that a 1.5″ headed brush dryer might be released by around the end of December. So, Revlon knows a good thing when it sees one and is expanding the line, but has yet to update it’s Customer Service department with any correct or meaningful information.NOTE: I revisited the C****O web site and was able to purchase a single “Revlon One Step Titanium Max 2.4″ Head” dryer brush. It should arrive in about five days. I’ll review it on the bottom of this review after I play around with it a bit.NOTE 11/5/2020: C****O cancelled my order for the Titanium Max 2.4 Head. Sigh. After a bit of research I discovered that the Hot Tools brand is also owned by Helen of Troy and has a One-Step brush drier in the smaller 2.4″ size virtually identical to the one described (but unavailable) from Revlon.I settled on the Hot Tools Professional Black Gold One-Step 2.4″ which I purchased from Amazon for twice the price of the Revlon One Step. I selected the Black Gold because it had a ceramic coating that is supposedly best for fine, easily damaged hair. The head is also removable and can be exchanged with a 4.2″ head, should I wish to purchase one separately. I like having that option. I’m going to try out the new Hot Tools for several weeks and will review it then.

    Yup.. soft and volume

I have very curly ugly hair and this tool literally makes my hair look so beautiful. I thought it was not going to do justice since I have curly frizzy dead hair and it literally makes me look like I just had a blow out… and I never had a blow out because the lord knows I can’t afford one. I highly recommend.

    I LOVE THIS!!

I’m a 53 year old NON girlie-girl who hates styling my hair. I have very fine hair cut into a “lob” that almost touches my clavicle. The way I did my hair in the past was to flip it upside down and blow dry it with a regular blow dryer. (I could just NOT get the hang of using a round brush with a hair dryer). This took about 5-6 minutes. I’d then finish off by running a flat iron through it which took another 7-8 minutes. But I could NEVER achieve that voluminous salon blow out look that sold me on this hairstyle in the first place!! That is until this impulse buy entered the scene. I bought it on a whim and I’m SO glad I did!! I can blow dry and style my hair with ONE TOOL and I look like I just stepped out of the salon!! It only takes me about 15 minutes from start to finish! I can NOT say enough good things about this!!! However, I do need to note I can ONLY use it on the WARM setting. Because of my hair type (VERY fine) the hot setting is too much.

    Gets very HOT

First of all let me start by saying I immediately fell in love with it, I can use it to straighten and style my hair. It leaves my hair very soft and hasn’t damaged it.My only complaint honestly is that its only been ten months and it started acting like it might turn off while im using it . For context, I use 3 times per week for 2 minutes to fix my bangs; and once some times twice a week for 20 minutes to style my hair (turning it off while sectioning my hair).

Great quality does an awesome job

I have thick and mostly curly hair. I bought this and I couldn’t be happier. It leaves my hair beautifully styled and smooth and shiny. Not need to use a blow dryer and then a flat iron or styler brush. This is a great all in one. Run and buy it, it is definitely worth it.

    Great bristles

Pros – bristles grab hair at root but does not tangle hair. The grip is a perfect size & I have smaller hands than most. Nice options for speed & heat. The end of the barrel does not get hot so you can grab it & not get burned.Cons – You cannot adjust temp or speed with one hand while using! You have to stop what you’re doing and adjust the controller and then resume styling. If I had more time, this would’ve been a dealbreaker and I would have returned it. Otherwise, it works great! I took off one star for the inconvenience of needing both hands to change temp & air flow speed.

    Changed my life!!

I bought this hot brush at the recommendation of a friend and it is the best hair care tool I have ever bought! It has completely eliminated the need for me to use my flat iron. I use it on my hair after it’s air-dried for an hour or so and it only takes a few minutes to be completely dry. I have very thick, coarse hair that refuses to lay smooth unless I use a straightener or flat-iron, but with this dryer-brush, I no longer need them. I would 100% recommend this product to anyone wanting to simply their hair routine while still looking like you put in the effort!

    Finally no frizz

I have extremely frizzy hair and always had a hard time make my hair looked styled and not like I just came out of bed. My hair stylist recommended this product and it is a game changer ! Finally no frizzy look ! I use two hair products in addition to keep the look lasting through the day.

    Performance

Absolutely loved this purchase !I was never able to do blowouts as I don’t know how to do it correctly, finally bought this after months of contemplating it and it was the best idea ever , I have pretty thick hair so i do go over with a straightener but my hair comes out so smooth, less damaged and the temperature is perfect especially to help prevent heat damage and it’s very easy to use

One Use: LOVE IT! (Pic After Sleeping On It)

I’ve only used the product once so far, but am so excited to continue using it going forward! I let my hair air dry almost completely and used the Round Brush Blower on mildly damp hair. It worked beautifully and dried and straightened my hair within less than ten minutes. (I didn’t time it to precision but I know it was under ten.)I wasn’t going for extreme styling. I just wanted non-frizzy hair with some semblance of neatness. I used to have wavy hair with the occasional banana curl. It was bouncy and full. With hormone issues, it began slightly thinning over the years but still maintained its volume and bounce. Unfortunately, round IV of COVID left me with COVID Hair Loss. My hair thinned noticeably and lost its “life.” While it has begun to come back to life again, it’s still thinner than it used to be and has barely any wave and bounce now. (I still hope that may reverse with more time, but who knows.)I decided to straighten my hair in the healthiest manner possible, just to give it at least a minimal style and nicer look. I was in love with my Maxi Glide flat iron in college and a bit beyond, but the steam function broke years ago. I’m not very coordinated and using a hair dryer with a separate round brush works but is super annoying to use for me.After reading a billion reviews, I settled on the Revlon Salon One Step Dryer and Volumizer (Original Model) and I am glad that I did this far!It was so easy to use and worked like a charm. (Side Bar: I have small hands and was intimidated by the size of the handle when I opened the box. Don’t be! It was really comfortable to hold and manipulate!) With Garnier Sleek and Shine Anti-Frizz oil only on my ends, the Brush Blower left my hair soooo smooth and soft, frizz free and styled with a slight flip at the ends. And, again using on only damp hair, it was fast! When I showed my Husband in the other room he loved it and even commented that it was straight but still had body and that the product did not leave my hair too flat. Later that night I received multiple compliments from my family when we stopped by for a get-together, specifically on my hair.As I have said, it has only been one use and so I cannot speak to durability, but I really do love it and am so excited to keep using it. I purchased a case for it separately to protect the bristles from bending and damage. (I have no where to hang it for storage, so it will be shoved in a drawer and I want it to last.)Overall, I am super happy and recommend this product! 😁ADDENDUM: Many people are noting that it gets super hot and is VERY Loud. Yes and Yes, BUT. So, the heat on High is very hot – haven’t tried Low yet). BUT, I shut off the blower and put it down to section out the next piece of hair I wanted to work on each time, and I also only went over each strip twice only , once on top and once on bottom and did not hold still on any spots. So, my hair did not overheat or even smell burnedish, like it used to with my hair blower. This manner of use may not be very good for the motor, with off and on back and forth, and I didn’t think of it at first. So, next time, I think I’ll switch it to cool when I put it down instead. It was so quick to use that I didn’t find the heat a problem at all. In fact, years ago I returned a newer hair blower because it didn’t get nearly as hot as my old one did and wound up sticking with old faithful instead. As to Noise! Yes, it is loud, but no louder than my 1992 hair blower is that I still use. The problem is the PITCH! It has a very high pitch and tinny note to it. My old hair blower is much lower in pitch and therein lies the difference! The Revlon Brush Blower basically sounds like a cheap stick vacuum that I used to have and got rid of specifically because of the noise, as I get migraines. Hubby gave me some of his foam in-the ear plugs to pop in when I am using the Brush Blower and it was fabulous. I would have suffered through because it works so great, but he is right. Over time the pitch of this thing would be no good for hearing health. So, I highly recommend grabbing some earplugs for yourself and to use them while drying and styling, just for hearing’s sake! 😉** NOTE: The attached picture is the next morning, after a night out with family and then sleeping on it. So, some of the volume is gone and the ends have lost their “flip,” but it’s still sleek and soft and frizz-free! YAY!! 🥳

    Time-saving, gentle, versatile, durable, salon-quality.

The REVLON One-Step Volumizer has completely replaced my flat iron in my hair care routine. Not only does it save me time, but it also doesn’t damage my hair like traditional flat irons do.I love that it’s easy to use and has two different heat settings (warm and hot), allowing me to customize the styling process to my hair type and desired look. Additionally, it’s light enough to use without causing arm fatigue, which is a huge plus. This tool is incredibly durable—I use it about three times a week, and it still performs like new. It’s fast to dry my hair and leaves it smooth and shiny, giving me salon-quality results every time.Since switching to this product, my hair looks and feels healthier, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. If you’re looking for a hair tool that delivers salon-quality results without damaging your hair, look no further than the REVLON One-Step Volumizer!

    Almost perfect.

I looked at quite a few “hot hair brushes” before settling on this one. The reviews for the durability, performance, price point and the REVLON brand reputation made me order it. I’m not disappointed. I have wavy, medium length fine hair and this dries it fairly quickly while smoothing out the waves and adding volume. It’s no heavier than a hair dryer but you can accomplish drying/styling using only one instrument instead of using a hair dryer AND a hair brush and/or a straight iron. My only complaint is where the controls are located: I have to put the device down on a counter to change the settings which are located on the rather bulky handle. I can’t make adjustments while I’m in the middle of drying my hair. Maybe I’ll figure it out as I get more experienced with it but I’ve already stored my hair dryer and plan on using only this to style my hair. The results are just worth it! Recommend 🙂

    Gorgeous hair at ease

Easy to use, even with my tiny hands. Able to easily manipulate rounding my hair with the brush and not getting the hair entangled. I am able to straighten my hair without frizz. I am also able to having lovely curls. The drying is quite quick which was surprising as my hair normally takes a long time to dry.It works very well and the price was very good.

Simply the most amazing thing ever. Tamed my thick curls!

I love this thing! It is amazing and without question my new go-to.I have long thick curly/wavy hair that I’ve never been able to manage when left curly. It is so thick that they stylist routinely thins it so that I can manage it. I’ve been using a hair dryer (with comb attachment) + flat iron for the past 30 years, with variable success. Mostly, the combination worked well after about an hour of drying and styling. My hair dryer was on it’s last legs (you know that smell of burning hair). This style of dryer kept popping up and I finally went for it.It was an absolute dream. My hair hasn’t been so shiny, soft, and manageable in a long time. It was so easy to use, and cut my drying/ironing/styling time down to 20 minutes!!! I got so many compliments the next day on how shiny and straight it was. I am so glad I took a chance on this.I was also concerned about the “volumizer” advertisement. The last thing I need is volume or body. In fact, I typically shower and dry my hair at night, before bed, so that I can sleep on it and flatten it a bit. I was able to brush the dryer through from the top of my head down, to keep things from getting more fluffed up. If you are looking for volume, I’m sure you could wrap your hair around this in the opposite direction (section hair, place it over top of the dryer, roll, pull up).PROS:It is also much more packable than my prior hair dryer and flat iron (I never could do the brush + hotel dryer and always brought mine along). Less likely to break in transit. It has 4 settings – 3 heat settings (high/med/low) and a cool setting. I did use the cool when I was finished, but didn’t feel like I needed it as much as I normally do with the dryer + flat iron. My fingers also were NOT burning with this product. Normally, my hair gets so hot that my fingers hurt if I touch it too quickly.SOOO EASY to use. Highly recommend if you are not coordinated (like me).CONS:I do agree with other reviewers that it is a bit heavy. I suspect this won’t be an issue after regular use, and look forward to the extra muscle in my arms.It is also a little louder than I’m used to. I am fine to use ear plugs while drying my hair though, with the hopes of protecting my long-term hearing anyway.I haven’t tried it until now!!

Where has this been all my life?!

This dryer is amazing. My hair can be pretty frizzy at times-especially if I blow dry it. I was amazed at first, how quickly this tool dried my hair! I have shoulder length hair and it goes from damp to dry with only about 8 minutes of styling. It’s also super easy to use! I am not talented in the hairstyling department but this was super simple and straight forward. But, the best part was the results! This dryer made my hair so smooth, soft, and it helped to keep the ends neat. Usually I would need to blow dry my hair first then straighten it to get rid of the frizz. But, I don’t need to use a straighter if I dry it with this tool! After years of struggling to style my hair I wish I could have found this sooner.

    Easy to use

This was referred to me by a friend. I really like it. If you have a hard time using both a hair dryer and a brush together this is easy to use and give nice volume to the hair. Being a hair stylist for a long time, my only negative would be the temperature controls. High is very hot, low is still hot ( should be warm) just a slower fan speed. Maybe those settings are good for thicker hair. I’ve been using the cool setting and it’s working well. I have finer hair and the high setting is to hot for my hair type. Good price too !

    Like, wow

I have a lot of hair. A LOT. Like, wow, who is that Wookiee over there LOTS. I have looked into having a third arm surgically implanted (Is this a thing? Who would do it? Vascular surgery? Orthopedic surgery? These are the questions that keep me up at night🤔) because my shoulders are so tired holding up a dryer and a round brush for eternity. I briefly considered making a workout video (“Toned Arms: the Hairdryer Workout”), but was informed by fitness people that there isn’t a market for a 75-minute focus on the anterior deltoids. I almost have to wake up BEFORE I GO TO SLEEP in order to have enough time to dry my hair before work. This thing took me 8 minutes. I naturally assumed, upon finishing, that I had entered some sort of Amazon-created beauty time warp. I checked with my husband, in the next room, and in fact I did not go through a blowout wormhole. The silkier-than-silk style was accomplished by this miracle of a brush in 8 minutes (several more minutes were lost to running my hands through my hair and flicking it over my shoulder while smiling coquettishly in the mirror). If you struggle with an over abundance of hair like I do, seriously consider giving this amazing contraption a try.

    So much bounce!

After seeing the advertisement for a similar, higher-priced product, Amazon search results brought me to this Revlon dry and style all-in-one for a quarter of what the higher-priced product cost; this is a steal in comparison to the competitor. The DeliveryThe product showed up at my door in its original box and they slapped a mailing label on it. This gave me pause because since there was no protective packaging, I thought for sure the dryer would have been damaged in transit. Thankfully, the product was undamaged when I took it out of the box. On further inspection, it was not scratched or dinged up and it worked as soon as I plugged it in.The DryerThe product itself is quite large and larger than what I had expected. The oval shape of the brush head seemed concerning to me as I’ve only ever used a round brush with my NuMe Ionic Hair Dryer. The settings are cool, low, and high and are located on a dial at the bottom end of the dryer. To use the product was self-explanatory, all there is to do is plug it in, select the heat setting, and off you go to a great blow out.The ExperienceBefore blowing out my hair, I use whatever hair product I have on hand at the time. Right now, I am using a coconut oil hair moisturizing serum which helps to temper flyaways, leaves the hair with a smoother finish, and moisturizes. For my hair length, a nickel-size amount is just enough for my just-past-the-shoulders hair length and then comb through. Then I section off my hair to make drying more manageable.Starting with the back sections, I started with the low setting and brushed in a downward direction and letting the brush feature volumize on its own. The back sections are the most difficult for me because they are, for some strange reason, wavy, unruly, and difficult to keep straight. This brush dryer brought the back parts out and under for a nice bouncy finish. It was nearly a perfect ‘C’ formation that I couldn’t believe. I then moved to the side sections and the crown and was surprised with the volume the brush gives. While I’m drying the side sections, I’m leaving hair rolled up in the brush and allowing it to remain there for a few seconds before I gently pull the brush through the length of my hair. Unbelievable. It was almost like having big Texas hair.Finishing up with the rest of my hair, I noticed that the grip on the dryer is much more comfortable than my other hairdryer and round brush. The thickness of the pommel makes for a very comfortable grip, and I didn’t realize what a difference size made. The other thing I noticed is at the upper end of the dryer, there is room to grab the end with your other hand and work the brush into a rolling motion (if you like to use two hands, which I do).During the first use, I timed it as it normally takes me about 7 or 10 minutes to dry my hair. With the Revlon, it cut that time in half. My hair came out dry, volumized, shiny, sleek, and the finish was as though I had taken a straight iron to my hair before applying a curling iron. There was so much bounce to my hair that it felt like I just got a hair cut. When I pulled my hair into a pony at the end of the day, the pony was bouncy. The Next DayWhat I noticed when waking up the next day is that my hair was still bouncy and still sleek. With my normal hairdryer, I still had problems with frizz and my hair just did not keep through the rest of the day. Consequently, for second-day hair, I had to use a dry shampoo to give it a little life. With the Revlon, second-day hair felt just like it did the day before, which was nearly a shock. I called my girlfriend who had been looking at this product with me, and I told her that everything they said about it was true – and I didn’t have to do my hair the second day because it kept through the night. Say what?!The PredecessorThe old hairdryer and round brush went back into my mom’s bottom drawer in her bathroom, for when she comes to visit. Although I have a sneaky suspicion that when she tries my Revlon, she’s going to toss those in the can.The Negative ReviewsYes, I have read all the negative reviews about how this thing craps out after a few uses, or two months, whichever occurs first. I hope that it does not happen here, and if it does, I will update this review to let you know how long it took for it to die on me.As for the other reviews about how the hair turns out following use . . . (1) don’t leave the dryer in one place while you use, or it will burn your hair, doing anything with the application of heat has a tendency to burn if you leave it too long, that’s just physics, (2) I did not have any hair loss while using this product, but I do comb out my wet hair first to work out any knots and tangles and comb through any product I am using before drying, and (3) if you do not have bounce or sleekness, um, go watch some YouTube videos and learn how to comb your hair.Great product, unbelievable. Totally thought it was a gimmick, and pleasantly surprised at how well this works – and for the price – you can’t go wrong!

    Quick Dry!

It definitely dries my hair faster than my traditional hair dryer. My hair comes out straighter as well. I’m just not sure if it has the same bounce as using my brush. I’m happy I bought it but I’m going back and forth with both dryers. I think this dryer may tame my frizzy hair better in humid weather. That’s a win.

Cut my blow dry time in half!

Love this brush. Hair comes out soft and perfectly styled in less time than the old method with roller brush and hair dryer. I use a regular hair dryer to get my hair almost dry and then finish off with the Revlon brush dryer. Like many other reviews, I found the highest temperature setting a little too hot, but the medium setting is perfect. So glad I found this!

    My first review EVER

I am an avid Amazon shopper. I’m talking like at last 3-4 deliveries a week and I’ve never written a review, but this styling tool… WOW!!!!! Where has it been my ENTIRE life. As someone who’s had waist length to middle to back semi-course hair this is a true asset. Bravo Revlon.

    Best hair tool!

This is honestly one of the best hair tools I have ever purchased! I love it! After using this, my hair is soft, not frizzy. I have some natural wave but I don’t even have to use a straightener. I was afraid the barrel may be too big, but for the length of my hair (couple of inches below jaw length), this works very well. Would definitely purchase again.

    Perfect blow out

I have ringlet curly hair (medium length) and this brush straightens my hair perfectly in 15 minutes. I have never found a hair tool that does this perfect of a blow out. And price is incredible. Shared this gem with all of my friends! A 100% must buy.

    Amazingly Surprised

I am a hairdresser. I have very thick, coarse curly hair. This product cut my time in half and I didn’t even section my hair! It feels soft. Looks smooth and shiny. I only used it once but so far I’m beyond thrilled! It does get hot. It didn’t get too hot until I was just about done. I had no problem with the size of the brush. Air glow was amazing. I’m incredibly happy and really hope this product holds up. I’ll keep you posted. 😄

    Wife’s Latest Obsession

With its wide brush, it effortlessly styles her long locks, giving her that salon-worthy blowout look right at home. Plus, with three heat/speed settings, it’s gentle on her hair, leaving it shiny and smooth. Trust me, if your wife is anything like mine, she’ll love this game-changing tool!

Hairdryer and brush yield better results.

I have extremely straight and fine hair. To make things worse, I have suffered from stress-related hair loss for the past year, despite oral and topical treatment prescribed by a dermatologist. Basically, achieving hair volume is the hardest thing of my entire self-care routine, hence I’ve become quite an expert in styling products and techniques to do just that.Based on the raving reviews and videos on YouTube, Instagram, and other platforms, I decided to make this purchase after months of reading/watching them.Pros:- It does dry the hair more quickly than the usual hairdryer.- It does give lift to the hair roots.- More comfortable to operate than a hairdryer because it weighs slightly less and you don’t have to use both hands at all times so it may be a good option for people who experience difficulty keeping their arms lifted for a while or lifting them altogether.Cons:- The temperature settings are extremely hot, even the cool blast is definitely not cool but warm-hot. At least for my hair, it is just too much and it causes more damage than benefits, despite using reputable thermal protection products prior.- The quality of the bristles is rather poor or, at least, inadequate to perform under such heat. I purchased it on February 5th 2024 and have used it once or twice a week since then. The bristles are melted!- The hair tends to get stuck in between the melting bristles so it gets pulled while operating the appliance. Obviously, this makes my hair loss worse.- Even following the directions to a T, my hair looks and feels better when I style it with my old hairdryer and round brush. In summary, it may work for some but not all people.

My absolute favorite!! Makes my hair shiny and beautiful

This makes my hair so beautiful! This is my absolute favorite blow dryer brush ever. I have owned several. Some cost three times this price (actually one cost $500) and this one is the best I have owned. This makes my hair shiny & healthy looking and tames my frizz. I use it to make big waves… I put argan oil on my hair after and than put my hair in a heatless bun for about 30 and my hair is gorgeous big shiny waves and big curls. I like big curly waves as opposed to the frizzy stringy curls my hair has turned into since getting older.I LOVE the price, plus it’s easy to travel with and because the price is so reasonable I am not overly worried when traveling because the price point is so great and I can easily replace it if my luggage is lost or it is damaged (I had a $200 curling iron destroyed when flying one time during a random luggage inspection).I naturally have frizzy curly thick long hair. I get so many compliments when I blow dry my hair with this. Highly recommend.

Works well but a little too loud

The hair dryer works super well; it does its job quickly. My hair is wavy and THICK, and with the dryer, I can get through my hair in 15 minutes and still get that blow-dried look that lasts until the next day! The only problem is that it is a little loud. It’s bothersome to get ready in the morning while my family is asleep. It gets a little irritating, but I honestly got used to it. Something else I have noticed is that the barrel brush is also on the thicker side. I have seen others complain about it; I personally don’t mind it because the thickness gives me more volume, but it is something to keep in mind.

    Love it!!!

I am beyond low maintenance when it comes to grooming. I’ve been going crazy with frizz from regrowth. I was considering bangs and new I’d need to up my styling skills. After researching, I decided to give this tool a shot. It’s amazing!!! I’ve always owned a blow dryer, but never had much luck. The first time I used this, it was great! A little care, and the blow out lasted with nice waves from sleeping in a bun for several days until I washed it again! The regrowth frizz is tamed and I’m no longer going crazy!I use a bit of leave in conditioner and a heat protector, do each section. Once your hair feels hot to touch, it’s dry and move to a new section. Following that rule will prevent heat damage. It generally takes me two passes each on the top and bottom of each section. This is probably all no brainer info for most people. I’ve been air drying only for decades and only used heat tools a couple times a year. So this has been a revelation for me!! Can’t beat it for the price!!

    Buy It

I am actually reviewing 3 items with this review as all 3 are needed to nake my baby fine hair fierce! The first is the Revlon One Step Volumizer Plus. While it’s a tad louder than my ion blow dryer, the curls and lift are incredible! Even with my shorter hair, my blowouts have been amazing! While there’s different temps, I just use low and cool to get the volume and shine. So this item gets an A+ as it’s user friendly and sold at a great price point. The second is COLOR WOW Dream Cocktail which helps nit only thicken my baby fine locks without stickiness but also serves as a heat protectant with Volumizer. I am giving an A-. Not because I hate the product but because $26 is a tad steep for such a small bottle. It very light, so major odor and my hair feel soft. The third and final is COLOR WOW STYLE ON STEROIDS spray. It’s kinda costly at $28 but I think it is worth the cost. My hair has volume, shine and for the most part holds its shape in humidity and wind. This for me is an A+.So if you have baby fine hair like me, give these a try!

    Doesnt replace blow dryer

I bought this primarily as a way to style and dry my hair, in less time and with less effort. I have long hair and theres a lot of it, though the individual strands themselves are thin. It tends to do a little kink in odd places if I dont do anything to it after a shower, so I usually need to blow dry and flat iron the ends.I tried using this product with completely wet hair, to replace my hair dryer, and also after giving my hair some time to air dry. I might have been asking a little too much of it. It did not really cut time down, either way, and I did still have to use my hair dryer for my bangs (otherwise this thing would over work them and cause them to go flat) and for the back of my head, to completely dry it. So it didnt replace the hair dryer for me. I havent really been able to get a good “curl” out of it, either, but that might be user error and a learning curve for me.What it does do, and the reason I actually still really like it, is it does eliminate time/effort specifically with using a hot iron. It causes my hair to have less fly-aways, gives it more volume at the root, and gives my hair an overall more smooth finish. Unfortunately, with still needing a blow dryer, it does feel like I added another step to the process. I guess it mostly replaces the hot iron, not the blow dryer. Still, it seems like a healthier alternative to using a hot iron, and Ill definitely take that.I got this item on sale at around $35. I do think its worth that, I would have paid a little more for it even, so Id say I got a good deal at that price point, as long as it continues to function.

In depth review after using the revlon dry brush

First off, I’m someone who never really does anything special to their hair. I get it cut 1-2x per year and that’s about it. I’ll curl or straighten for special occasions (weddings, etc). The brush def has a learning curve and you have to figure out what works for you. I would highly suggest finding a product that suits your hair–I really like a silkening gloss or some sort of blowout product. Do NOT blow dry your hair right out of the shower, I made this mistake the first time using it. Wait until it’s about 70-80% dry, idk why this works but it does. Also, blow dry AWAY from your face!Pros:–Can give you the look of a blowout at super low cost!Cons:–Learning curve, takes some time to figure it out–The “high” setting is kinda loud, I thought my neighbors might hear it–need some product in your hair to truly give it the blow out look

    Great tool for long hair

This is my 1st hot brush. I love that it dries quickly and since it is brushing while drying, I’m not left with tangles from the hair dryer lowing it everywhere. I usually air dry, but on occasion I need to dry it quicker or want a straighter than usual texture. This is kinda large in my hand, but it’s is easy to hold and maneuver to get the job done. I can definitely recommend.Hair Details: I have very long blonde hair, normally mostly straight but due to beg fine and excessively soft it has constant flyaways & a frizzy look, using this tool tames alot of the flyaways and stringy/frizz even before adding a heat protectant spray. I have soft water, so when you add that to already soft hair it is even harder to make it lay down. This tool helps alot with that.

I feel like Jennifer Aniston after using this

*updated with picsI took these pics after 3 days without washing my hair. This is how I’m able to just “refresh” my hair by slightly dampening it and drying it in sections. Please forgive the split ends; this was after over a year without so much as a trimThe lady who cuts my hair recommended that I purchase something like this when I complained about all the heat styling I was having to do after I got a new job that required me to “look nice.” (I went from a super casual setting with kids to an office.) She said that this would reduce the amount of heat I was using, since I’d been blow-drying and then curling/straightening my hair. Obviously this thing uses heat, but it’s only one step. After reading a Buzzfeed listicle about cheap Amazon products that are “worth the hype,” I purchased this. That was in fall of 2020. I’m back here in 2023, almost 2024 to order a new one.I used this thing multiple times a week for 3 years straight, and the only reason I’m buying a new one is because the bristles are so bent over from continued use/abuse, which honestly seems pretty reasonable, especially considering I often didn’t really section my hair into small sections and just raked this bad boy through, like, 3 inches of wet hair when I was running late. I also was lazy about cleaning out the accumulated hair in the bristles, which contributed to the flattened bristles. Make sure you clean it out regularly! Not only is this super easy to use, but I’ve used this from when my hair was just below my shoulders to the length it is now, where it reaches the top of high-waisted jeans, and it’s never taken more than 8 minutes to go from towel-dried hair to a beautiful, almost Jennifer Aniston-caliber blowout. The smaller you section your hair while you use it, the more sleek, voluminous, and Jennifer Aniston-y it looks, plus it will most likely make the bristles last longer. Like I said, sometimes when I’m running late, I’ll just use it on thick clumps of hair, which is what I’m sure caused the bristles to eventually get flattened.I just use a scrunchie to section the top of my hair and start from the back, doing one side and then the other, clipping each finished section into one claw clip, and then move up in small sections to the top of my head until it’s done. For reference, my hair is the kind of fuzzy, wavy hair that you see on TikTok videos where they say “Is my hair actually curly?” and then the person does, like, a 17 step curly girl process and then they end up with gorgeous curls or waves. So, I think that I probably have wavy/curly hair, but I would never, ever take the time or energy to do all that. So instead, I just heat-style the crap out of it. Using a regular blow-dryer would give me crazy fly-aways and I would look like I’d rubbed a balloon on the top of my head. With this product, even the tiny hairs where my hair is parted lay down. The BEST part about this product is that it totally refreshes day old (and longer) hair.I actually only wash my hair about every 4-ish days or so, and all you have to do is mist your hair with a tiny bit of water, or, if you’re lazy like me, just run your hand under the faucet, and then rake your wet hand through the section you’re about to dry. You hair will look just as good as it did when it was freshly washed! It somehow eliminates the greasiness – who knows, maybe it’s just evaporating it and destroying my hair, but either way, it is a lifesaver for someone like me who needs to have presentable Office Hair but hates washing their hair every day.I’m actually really sad I have to order a new one, because the motor is just fine and it feels wasteful to discard it. But 3 years is more than good enough considering its cheap price and how much I love it.Anyway, you should definitely get this. I seriously spend all day just touching my hair all day, feeling like Rachel Green. I flip it over my shoulder all day long like Marcia Brady in The Brady Bunch Movie.

Works well for me! Looked at lots of products before buying this one

I have middle aged fine hair to my shoulders. I wanted a product that would help lift my hair at the roots and provide body. After looking at no less than 15 different versions of a dryer brush, I decided on the Revlon. This one is still large and oval, but not so large I can’t wrap my hair around it. I use the medium temp and the cool setting. The temp is just right, and this dries my hair in about 5 minutes! With volume! I find the cool setting to still be “somewhat warm” unless you let it run for about a full minute, so that’s the only downside to me. I bought a case for it because even though it does separate in the middle, if you pack it in luggage the bristles are bound to get squashed and bent. Nice long cord and cool to touch at the end. Sure wish they would provide other size accessories to use with it.

Review on original, 2, and 2 plus for thin fine hair

This review is based on my hair (very fine, thin, and easily damaged) and the different features each has.First the original: still my favorite over all for style and lasting volume! If it had the removable brush and 3 temp settings, it would be hands down perfection! Even with shirt hair I get amazing volume and shine that lasts all day. Yes it gets HOT! I’ve actually set off smoke detectors in a hotel, but I also use a lot of products that cause the smoke. But the results are worth it and if using a heat protector no damage. It doesn’t get tangled in your hair, I’ve used it on my daughter’s long thick hair, and never has it gotten tangled. The 2: it’s slightly smaller, less bristles, and doesn’t get as hot. If you have short hair this one works good, but I still need the heat from the original. This one is lighter, this is a plus. But I would highly recommend the original over the 2.The 2 plus: I love the detachable brush, I just got my hair cut in a tapered short bob so I love popping the brush off and using my tiny round brush. I love the 3 heat settings, but honestly I can’t tell a lot of difference from the high and medium. The material of the barrel is different and doesn’t get as hot, so you lose volume and shine. It’s lighter weight and handle makes it comfortable to use, but again it affects results. If you worry about heat damage or have wrist pain/issues, this one is definitely worth the money.I would highly recommend the original and 2 plus, they are by far the better of the 3. But the original is hands down the BEST! The only change it needs is a removable brush head. Other than that it works and has truly made a world of difference in my hair! I can’t live without it!!!

    Low maintenance girls’ best friend

I bought this because I have short hair with crazy cowlicks that can be super flat one day and wild and untamed the next. I never learned to use a curling iron, and hot rollers make me look like a frizzed out poodle. So I pretty much only blow dryer and brush my hair, and, as would be expected, that often didn’t fix my hair woes.I took a chance on this product, and I’m happy I did. This is easily the best thing since sliced bread. Not only does it dry my hair, but it allows me to tame the cowlicks and volumize my hair at the same time. It is super easy to use (essentially brush and twirl). While I do use a conditioner with heat protection, this product has enough heat control that I never feel like I’m going to scorch my hair. The best part, I can dry and style my hair in 5 minutes. A big win for the lazy low maintenance girl.My one criticism is that the product is big and a little bulky. It works on my short hair (think bob cut length) but it can feel a bit heavy. Still, I love it and would recommend it.

Great Overall — A Few Cons

I want to give this blow dryer 5 stars based on the results of my blow out alone, but there are a few things I don’t like about it, which I’ll note below. I’d buy it again, but I’m taking off 1 star for the areas where it falls short.Good info for you to know about my hair: I have a lot of fine, fly away, dry hair prone to frizz and poofing out. My usual Dyson blow dryer is in the shop right now, and I was looking for a cheap backup. I’ve always wondered if these styling dryers would work for me and decided to try this. I’m using a few new anti-frizz products in my hair right now, so I can’t say this dryer is completely responsible for my smooth results, but I can say it at least didn’t create any frizz in my hair.Another good thing is that I never spend the time to style my hair. While this dryer took just a *little* longer than usual to dry my hair, it did give my hair a nice bend on the end and it looked better than usual when I was done, so you do get something for the extra time. One reason I don’t style my hair with a round brush and a normal hair dryer is because of the coordination it takes to move the blow dryer cord around while twirling my hair with the brush and reaching over my head in weird positions. What a pain — and this dryer eliminates all those problems. Here are a few things I don’t like.1. The description said this: “3 Heat/Speed Settings with Cool option.” I took that to mean that there were 3 heat settings and 3 speed settings, so I could run Hot, Warm or Cool at High, Medium, or Low. That’s not the case. There are 3 total settings: Cool, Low, High. The Cool setting is High/Fast/Loud.The High setting is VERY Hot/Fast/Loud.The Low setting is also VERY hot, but the speed is Slower/Quieter.2. The Cool and High settings are very, very loud. I will be wearing ear plugs if I ever use those settings (not kidding!). My husband texted me from across the house when I was running it on Cool and asked if I was using his leaf blower, haha. He was joking, but it really is that loud.3. I said this already, but the Hot and Warm settings are hotter than hot. The cool setting isn’t warm enough to dry your hair effectively. I keep my finger on the settings and switch to Cool for a few seconds when I can’t take the heat. The heat is my number one complaint about this dryer.4. It’s larger and heavier than most blow dryers I’ve used.5. The barrel is very thick. It works for me, but because of the thickness, I don’t think it would work well for hair that is shoulder length or shorter.6. This last thing could be user error since I just got it and I’ll probably learn some tricks as I go. Because of the barrel thickness, it was hard to get the air close to my roots. When I was done drying, my strands were all dry and smooth, but my roots were still damp. When I get my Dyson back I’ll probably just go over my scalp for a few minutes after using this for the drying/styling. [EDIT: A few weeks after writing this I found out I’m not getting my Dyson back. It couldn’t be repaired, but that’s okay. I figured out how to dry the roots. Section off your hair while it’s wet, and then start at the root of each section. I was starting at the ends. Hold the dryer near the scalp to help it dry, and then slowly move it down that section of hair. Doing it this way dries my roots pretty well and I can quickly go back over any areas that are still damp when I’m done. It actually works great.]So that’s it. My complaints are just meant to help someone else understand the product, but overall I like it, recommend it, and love the results.

    Love this thing!

Super easy to use (much easier than I anticipated)! I have shoulder length hair and like to get that straightened round brush look and this does it so quickly. I don’t like to spend a lot of time on my hair but don’t like the frizzy look of air dry after the shower. On high setting it does get very hot so you have to keep it moving. Low setting works great too. I either let my hair air dry until it’s 80% then use the brush or I use my other blow dryer for a quick almost dry before using the round brush to finish it off. Try it you won’t be disappointed.

    Good product overall

It was easy to hold and maneuver, not heavy at all. Ot did the job of drying my very wavy hair straight out of shower after using a towel. It didn’t straighten my hair like a traditional blow out would and there was some frizz after. but it left if mostly straight enough that a quick run through with my flat iron left it smooth. Overall worth the price and decent qaulity. The noise was not bothersome to me on low or medium, the high setting is loud but that’s to be expected.

Excellent product for drying and styling hair

This product is easy to use and does a good job of drying and styling my hair. My hair is wavy and needs to be brushed when drying. Product works like a blow dryer and a brush at the same time! So no need to try to manage holding a dryer with one hand and brushing my hair to smooth it out with the other hand, which is near impossible to do. The medium heat setting is perfect for my hair which is not very thick.

    There are no words…

“Whaaaat??” “Are you kidding me?! Are you KIDDING ME?!” …This was literally my reaction when using the Revlon One Step Volumizer PLUS 2.0 for the first time. No joke. I couldn’t believe how amazing my hair looked. I slayed. I was cooking. What are some other sayings of today’s youths? Throw those in there as well. That’s how freaking good my hair looked. How did I not know such a product existed? This thing is magic. By random chance, I stumbled upon this creation, and lo the hair gods did smile upon me. Here are the deets: I’m 48 years old. My amazing hairdresser shut down during COVID. I went probably 3 years without going to a salon. After some hair loss due to a minor surgery, my new growth was coming in really frizzy. I finally went to a new salon. I told the stylist about the frizz problem. I thought surely she could work her magic and make it look better with the right products and techniques. Nope. I left the salon with a hair cut and supposed blow-out, but every bit as frizzy. My next experience (at a different place) was markedly better, but I still didn’t have that “salon-quality” look. It was just okay.A few weeks later, my round brush broke. I hopped onto Amazon to find a replacement brush and stumbled upon the Revlon One-Step Volumizer. Out of curiosity, I ordered the product. I didn’t really expect to see much of a difference between using my hair dryer and round brush and using this product. Boy was I WRONG. This thing… it’s magic. That’s all I can say. My hair looks full, bouncy, SHINY (no frizz!), and like I just stepped out of a high-end salon. I thought I was destined to live the rest of my life with frizzy hair, but I was wrong! This thing makes my hair look BETTER than when getting a professional style/blowout! I can’t speak highly enough about the results. It was also quick and easy to use; although I will say that that’s partly due to the fact that I have an average amount of hair, and it’s short (bob length). I did try using it on my 8 year old who has TONS of waist-length hair, and it took a pretty long time. So just be aware that how long it’ll take to dry all depends on your hair volume, texture, and length. The only thing I think could improve the product would be to add a “cool shot” button where you could just hold it down temporarily to get the cold air, rather than having to rotate the wheel, which is just a bit awkward while drying/styling. Other than that, the product is amaze-balls. 10 out of 10, do recommend.

    What I’ve been missing!!

I have never used a blowout style round brush and omg I’m so glad I gave this a try, o usually section my hair to a top and bottom half and just do 2-3 spirals per side on each layer, let cool, and it gives me the smoothest bounciest VS angel hair I’ve ever had in probably about 10 minutes. My only complaint is the noise, it’s too loud in my opinion where if you live with other people I wouldn’t want to use it early in the morning or late if they’re trying to sleep. But it works for my schedule luckily

    Decent product

This product has some very good points and one not so good point. If you have curly hair, it works well to straighten it. It will give you pretty good volume and take a lot of the curl out the issue is it doesn’t really curl your hair if you have wavy hair and you blow dry it. If you are looking to use this to curl your hair while blow drying it, it will not work. It does blow dry your hair quickly and nicely and give you body but next day it’s pretty flat overall it’s a decent product If you are going out somewhere quickly and want your hair to look nice , I would use it. It’s a good price as well. It gets decently hot.

    Finally a lighter version

Got my new Revlon product today and wow, loving the new design. I thought it was as big as old one and was prepared to send it back. I own a LANGE and have owned the Revlon and both are so big and heavy. As a senior (62) with wrist and shoulder weakness its been hard to do my hair for a few years now.I’m keeping this guy. Its a little smaller than the old version but I also have less hair lol. It seemed to dry faster as well and I like the full cool setting.Thank you!

    It works!

I naturally have 4c hair type but I have been relaxing the hair. The last time I relaxed my hair was December 2023 and ever since then, I just cornrowed my hair and started wearing wigs. I finally decided to give the wigs a break and washed my hair prior to installing twisted braids to my hair in April 2024. So I now have 4-5 inches of new hair growth from the scalp. I now decided to use this hairdryer after washing my hair and it did ripped out almost a handful of my hair (lol). After realizing what was happening, I figured that it was best to use a comb and thoroughly detangle my hair before using the dryer…which worked! I use the cool setting on the dryer first after detangling my hair, then I used hot. I have included pictures of my hair before and after using the hairdryer.

    Great Volumizer!

This is my second Hot Air Brush. I loved the first one as well, but eventually the rubber prongs on the brush broke off and left bare spots. Otherwise, it’s a wonderful tool that leaves one hand free while you dry, so I bought a second one. It saves a good deal of drying time and allows you to create as much volume as you wish.

    New favorite hair tool

Absolutely love this! I blow dry my hair with a standard blow dryer till my hair is halfway dry then I switch to this to finish. It leaves my hair straight and getting volume is so easy with this! I’d buy again for sure! Personally, I think this is the only tool I’d need to bring for traveling!

    WOW!

dryer noise is an issue but this is the best blow dryer i’ve ever owned.

I’ve had this hair dryer since 2021. it is quite easy to use and my hair always looks nice when i’m done. I like this hair dryer so much that i have always wanted to write a review and am doing so now. the dryer has stood the test of time. i do have one complaint, the sound of the dryer is too loud. I sometimes use my noise cancelling earbuds to drown it out. but they’re not always handy. I do recommend some ear protection if this is still an issue. without ear protection i can only use a low warm setting. the high setting is helicopter loud.

    Buen producto

This is my second Revlon brush I had the bigger one

My larger Revlon brush lasted three years and then the heating element went out. So I got this one that was supposed to produce shinier hair, etc. I like the bigger one better for shinier hair and the hairdos I got from it made me look like I had more hair and they would last Without me having to redo. Now you know what I’m going to say about this one, my hair is not as shiny I don’t like the finished look, and the finished look such as it is, doesn’t stay as well as when I had the larger Revlon wand. It’s OK but having had the other one first there’s a big difference.

    Love love love

My hair feels so shiny and sliky, as someone with super curly hair i never thought i would ever have straight hair that wasnt greasy or stiff, i have been proven wrong, it does get very hot so be careful about that and i noticed after using it my room was a bit smokey so i opened a door and turned on the fan but other then that i love this brush!

    Like it

I like the volume it gives my hair. The medium setting get too hot to use for any length of time. It has a big brush – may look at getting one with a smaller brush. Purchased the one for the price & to try this type of styling tool out.

    Hands down my favorite blowdryer

I bought one for myself years ago and my 12 year old step daughter really loves mine and wanted one for herself to keep at her moms house. So, that’s what she got. The price is amazing and the way it smooths my fair while also drying it is really good. Super easy to use and you don’t have to have a brush in one hand and a dryer in the other. All you need is this tool! 🙂

    One of the best inventions!

I never had the patience for the blow dryer for my long thick curly hair and I could never afford a blowout and honestly I’m a mother first but I haven’t had my hair done and over 4 years at this point and I would love to get it done but then I bought this lovely creation here and it was a game changer. Now I do believe I still deserve to get my hair done at a salon because it does need to be cut I need my lighters back and it needs to be dyed because I am getting older and I have grays, but nobody’s treating me special to that so this was amazing and I’m glad I purchased it it was worth every penny and it was worth getting the asurion warranty because these instruments are very faulty especially with very thick curly hair and I have not found a better one than Revlon but then again I also can’t afford to get my haircut so I love this product I recommend it and it’s a pretty looking one and it is different from the one that’s cheaper I guess it’s lower level than the one I’m talking about here in the photo that I purchased but it’s the pink one and that one’s great too and that’s what put me on to this pretty shiny one and that metal makes a difference in your hair and makes it softer and I don’t look like a lion in the morning when I blow dry my hair at night and it takes minutes when it used to take me almost an hour or more to dry my hair out. Hey Revlon, if you read my review take a look at my picture and I would totally do a commercial for you guys! I’ll do it just like those old sexy Pantene pro-v commercials and how they used to be! Hahaha we could do slow motion I’ll swing my hair back and forth It’s about 34 in Long. Now you have to dye my hair first though and I’ll do it for free after that just let me get my hair done the whole works. Lol jk. Thank you Amazon for letting me write a humorous review but it was honest and I hope other potential buyers read my review and make the right decision to purchase this item because it is worth it especially to spend the extra couple bucks to get the asurion warranty because we know as females are hair dryers and hair equipment type stuff can easily be faulted and this protects you for 3 years and I can’t even get minento last a year before it falls out on me and that’s not by human error but because of the use of it and my hair thickness and you know I don’t have to explain to you guys it’s probably a bunch of females that already have this product or if not trust me and get it by the way guys follow me on Instagram @poshwithbiddy for all the cute hair pics. I’m just kidding I’m not posting cute hair pics I’m just posting funny stuff and I just learned how to do reels and I’m trying to get views so help me out guys plus get this freaking product because you need this in your life I use it twice a day! And it’s also perfect for when you just need to straighten up and add volume to your hair real quick before you walk out the door I’m telling you if you don’t buy this product it’s probably cuz you’re broke but if you’re not broke this is it. Lol I hope I made someone laugh today because this review I made just made my day and it made me laugh so I hope you guys have a lovely evening as I’m writing this review at night because I’m bored.bRevlon give me a job I need one!
